SEASTATE 3 : inversion

Juxtaposing the meticulous detail of the hydrographer with the abstract as ‘automatic’ drawings of nature itself, inversion charts the limits of our rational understanding of the world.

Envisioned as an inverted 3D print of the seabed around Singapore, the static model of a dynamic environment is based on incomplete maps, anecdotal stories, and personal observation derived in turn from archival composites and the digital read-outs of hydrological surveys.
