drift (rope sketch)

Drift (rope sketch) and drift (stay still now to move), probe the possibilities of two nations, Singapore and Malaysia, as figures and objects drift between the two.

This is no mere metaphor for the dissolving or transgressing of borders. For what is experienced in the image plane as a loosening of form is in fact quite a literal transcription of the flux that envelopes the two nations, destined to frustrate the arbitrary.
